About me
Darin is the Instructional and Program Design Coordinator for the Center for Education Design, Evaluation, and Research (CEDER) at the University of Michigan's Marsal Family School of Education. In this role, he partners with educational organizations, teachers, and UM faculty, staff, and students to design innovative learning experiences and resources for K-12 educators and their students. This work is driven by his intersecting interests in social justice, adolescent and disciplinary literacies, place-based education, and inquiry driven learning. Darin taught social studies in Detroit for many years before moving into teacher education and curriculum development. He particularly enjoys collaborating with area educators and historians to develop place-based learning experiences for youth that celebrate the deep history of freedom seeking and social justice activism in the Detroit area.
