About me
Richard attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where he received his B.A. in History. Richard continued his education at Wayne State University where he earned a Masters of Arts in Teaching degree. Since college, Richard has worked with numerous community organizations in many different capacities. Currently, Richard serves on the Association of Chinese Americans’ board where he serves as the president. Additionally, Richard leads the ACA youth group, Student Leadership for Asian American Youth (SLAAY). SLAAY builds leadership capacity in the youth by increasing their knowledge of AAPI history and culture while simultaneously working with the community. Richard Mui works at Canton High. He teaches and serves as the Social Studies Teacher Leader. He teaches AP U.S. History and an Asian American Pacific Islander History elective course, the first APA elective offered in Michigan. Additionally, Richard is a longtime football coach and advisor for the Asian Pacific American Club.
